Attempt to smuggle child from Bahrain foiled
Manama : An attempt to human-traffic a child from Bahrain to Saudi Arabia through King Fahd Causeway was foiled recently.
Saudi daily Al Riyadh reported on its online version yesterday that the child was found hidden behind the front seats along with three bottles of liquor.
Quoting King Fahd Causeway Saudi Customs General Director Dhaifallah Al Otaiby, the report said, “The child was lying down on the floor mats of the rear seats of the vehicle.”
It added that the driver claimed that the child was his, but failed to provide official documents proving his claims.
Al Otaiby said official procedures have been taken.
