Prince Salman highlights Bahrain’s efforts in protecting environment

Manama: Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister  HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday received Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa at Riffa Palace, following his appointment as Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).

During the meeting, the Crown Prince highlighted the significant strides the Kingdom has taken to protect the environment and maintain sustainable development. 

Prince Salman underscored the importance of further increasing efforts to develop the Kingdom’s environmental sector through the implementation of the SCE National Environmental Strategy.

The Crown Prince added that Bahrain’s leading role in environmental protection is a direct result of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and that Bahrain’s young people, who demonstrate their competence, continue to play a particularly vital role in supporting the environmental sector.

Prince Salman congratulated Shaikh Faisal and wished him success in his new role, under the leadership of the President of the SCE, Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Speaking on Bahrain’s efforts to meet international environmental goals, the Crown Prince highlighted Bahrain’s constructive participation at the COP 21 Climate Change Conference and Bahrain’s recent signing of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change at the United Nations.

The SCE Vice President expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince and expressed his pride in His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s trust in appointing him to his position.
