Man jailed in Bahrain for posing as ex-colonel
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court sentenced a man to two years behind bars after it found him guilty of fraud.
The accused reportedly introduced himself as a retired colonel to a local entrepreneur who was looking for support to increase the number of work permits, to recruit more employees for his business.
The suspect told his victim that he had connections in the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and charged BD1300 to help him to get the desired visas.
“I was in dire need for more employees, and so I gave him the amount. But he didn’t help me and also refused to return the money back,” the victim told prosecutors.
