Set up regional ops: EDB Chief

Manama  : Bahrain is looking forward to enhance its trade relations with France by welcoming more French companies to set up regional operations in Bahrain, said a top official yesterday.  

Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board (EDB), while speaking at a luncheon hosted by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain (FCCIB) said EDB is focusing on five target sectors with strong incentives for investors and potential for growth. The sectors include: financial services, ICT, tourism, manufacturing, and logistics and transport.

During the event hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel, Al Rumaihi said, “Bahrain and France have a long shared history, with trade between both countries dating back over 60 years. Trade now stands at $267million – up from around $200m in 2012. The luncheon is one of the events that FCCIB holds throughout the year as an opportunity to develop relationships with business partners.
