Three Indian men arrested for harassing female workers
Manama : Three Indian citizens were arrested yesterday for harassing female workers of a cleaning company in Hidd and attempting to molest one of them.
According to about 20 women, who are cleaners at a mall, the three male employees regularly harassed female workers during working hours as well as in their accommodation.
“The workers are provided with company accommodation. Both men and women live in the same building. The women complained that they were harassed at their place of stay as well as during work hours. Two days ago, while they were at the mall one of the men tried to grab a female worker. Later, the woman called up her family in India, and the family sought help from their friends in Bahrain,” a source said.
“The friends informed Indian social workers here about this, who contacted the Indian Embassy and the police. A police case was filed and the accused were soon arrested. The victim was transferred to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) shelter,” the source added.
