World Day for Safety and Health at Work observed
Manama : Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, yesterday observed World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2016 by holding walk-in gatherings for employees at all Alba entrances at the beginning of the day.
Held at the Main Gate, South Gate and Marine Gate, Alba’s Executive Management, Directors and Managers distributed flyers related to this year’s theme ‘Workplace Stress: A collective challenge’, which focuses on current global trends on work-related stress and its overall impact.
Speaking on this occasion, Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Murray said: “At Alba, employees’ safety and health are our top priority. To prevent all work-related injuries and illnesses, we must work together as one team and take the ownership of safety at all times which in turn will improve our productivity.”
Every year the International Labour Organisation (ILO) celebrates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28. This is a worldwide drive to address health and safety issues at the workplaces globally.
