Solidarity of 50,000 at Bahrain For All festival

Manama : Over 50,000 people participated in the Bahrain For All festival, held yesterday at Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd, which aimed at strengthening solidarity among the Kingdom’s residents.

As its tagline goes ‘Bahrain for All, All for Bahrain’, the event promoted diversity, harmony and unity.

According to organisers, the event was a huge success, thanks to the large turnout and the spectacular performances by the artistes. Some of the highlights of the event were the musical performances by Bahraini singers Mohammed Abdul Raheem, Mohammed Al Tamimi, Mohammed Al Bakri, and Arab Idol contestant Hanan Redha.

Bahraini rap and hip-hop artiste The Mystro (Hamed Al Fardan) and the critically acclaimed DJ Outlaw, along with Flipperachi and Kuwaiti star Daffy also performed. The other programmes included multi-cultural shows by some of the expatriate social clubs.

Speaking to DT News on the sidelines of the event, organiser Nivedita Dhadphale said, “It is a very great atmosphere here. The turnout seems better and we have more participating embassies, clubs, organisations, and communities this time.”

The participation of Special Family Support group(SFS), a group that works for families with differently-abled children, was one of the highlights. Children from the group displayed musical and dance performances.

“We found this as a great opportunity for our kids to perform. It’s a good way include them in the society,” SFS Founder Fadia Haroon told DT News.

There was also a market with stalls selling food, clothes, jewellery and handmade goods.

Ten embassies were present to showcase their countries’ culture and heritage.

Discover Islam and Alliance Francaise were also present, offering information about their services. An artists’ corner was also set up, where locally-produced artworks were up for sale.
