Speaker assures support to workers
Manama : Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed Al Mulla reiterated the parliamentary support to Bahraini workers, highlighting the importance of doubling efforts to increase production for the sake of Bahrain and the citizens amid the current economic challenges.
The speaker also affirmed the parliament’s keenness on maintaining the rights of workers and pensioners through the enacting the necessary legislation.
In a statement issued by the Council of Representatives on the eve of International Workers Day here yesterday, Al Mulla extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, lauding their directives to support Bahraini workers.
He expressed the council’s gratitude to Bahraini workers for the patriotic role they are playing and their contributions to the comprehensive development march in the Kingdom. “All labour institutions’ visions and proposals related to workers’ issues are always welcome.”
He added that the right of work is guaranteed by the Constitution, and wished the labour community more unity for the best interests of the Kingdom.
He asserted that the Council of Representatives and the government are constantly cooperating to develop all aspects related to workers, creating job opportunities for Bahraini youth and passing laws that increase labourers’ rights.
He also stressed the importance of workers’ commitment to the legal and constitutional practices, within the Royal Reform Project and the democratic march spearheaded by HM King Hamad.
