15 selected for FDPM Fellowship 2016-17

Manama : The Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister (OFDPM) yesterday announced the selection of 15 individuals for this year’s FDPM Fellowship.

The fellows were chosen from a pool of 700 applicants after successfully completing a rigorous application process, based around the vision and objectives of the initiative.

The 2016-17 fellows will be seconded by their respective government entities to the OFDPM for one year.

The Director General of the OFDPM, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, highlighted that the ambitious fellowship is in line with Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s vision to continually develop Bahrain’s young leaders and enable them to actively contribute to the Kingdom’s growth and development.

He noted that the fellowship has been carefully designed to develop the fellows’ research, leadership and analytical skills, and provide experience and insight into implementation of government policies alongside OFDPM officials.

He also highlighted the success of the first intake of FDPM fellows, specifically noting their professionalism and determination. He expressed his aspirations for the second group of fellows to build on their qualities displayed during the application process and to take advantage of the opportunity.
