Bahrain must prevent runaways from transferring money: MP
Manama : A Bahraini MP demanded banks and remittance centres in the country to prevent runaway domestic workers from transferring money abroad, and report them to the police.
Parliament’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Deputy Chairman Mohammed Al Jowder said his proposal comes to curb the increasing runaway issue of domestic workers and to facilitate their arrest.
Al Jowder clarified that the proposal aims to provide banks and money transferring centres with lists and data of runaway domestic workers so they could be easily identified and turned to justice in case they transferred money abroad.
