Bahrain court cancels jail term of fighter women
Manama : The High Criminal Court has cancelled the one-month jail term of a woman following an appeal. She was accused of being involved in a physical brawl.
The defendant was fined BD100 instead. She was reportedly implicated in a quarrel, where she and her sisters are said to have attacked her neighbour, his wife and his father.
The incident occurred when the man assaulted the defendant’s children under the pretext that they were causing nuisance.
The sisters of the defendant also attacked the neighbour’s wife with a plank, according to the court documents.
They were also sentenced to one month in prison earlier. However, their sentences were replaced with BD100 fine each on appeal.
