Bahraini man steals heritage of mom, aunt
Manama : A 35-year-old Bahraini man stole the heritage of his mother and aunt, according to court files. The defendant is said to have sold a land plot, which his mother and aunt inherited.
He sold it for only BD120,000, although it was worth more than BD300,000. The pair reportedly issued a power of attorney to the 35-year-old man to sell the land, and they spent one year inquiring with him if any bid was made.
He was evading them, and the pair finally decided to appoint a lawyer to check the status of the land in the Land Registration Bureau. It was later found that it was already sold for BD120,000.
It was also learned that the defendant used the money to buy a house for himself. He was sentenced to three years in jail yesterday, and he was granted a BD10,000 bail, pending the outcome of his appeal.
