RCM launches Ramadan charity programme

Manama

The month of Ramadan is the time to immerse oneself fully in prayers and sacrifices. Many organisations in Bahrain have already started donating Ramadan food to the needy people.

Rotary Club of Manama (RCM), headed by its president, Robert Ainey and Community Service Directors of RCM, Khalid Mukhtar and Roaya Baqer, began distributing Ramadan food boxes at different locations in Bahrain.

As many as 500 food boxes were collected from Al Jazeera warehouse located in Mina Salman and 600 food boxes were received from Jawad Dome Budaiya, by the members of RCM as well as Rotaract.

“The food boxes collected from Al Jazeera were distributed in northern parts of the Kingdom, while the Jawad food boxes were distributed in middle and southern parts of Bahrain. The distribution was done with the help of different charity societies,” said Roaya Baqer.

She said that the members of RCM and Rotaract tried to cover almost all the places of Bahrain, including Muharraq, Manama, Jidali, Riffa etc.

Moreover, both Al Jazeera and Jawad helped them for the delivery of Ramadan food boxes by providing truck services she said.

The annual programme, which is being held ahead of the Holy month of Ramadan, will continue today (Sunday) also, Roaya Baqer added.
