Dalal Al Zayed calls for new legislations to deter terrorism

Shura Council member Dalal Al Zayed has called for new legislations to deter terrorism while participating in an Arab Parliament meeting yesterday in Cairo.
Al Zayed, who is a member in the Arab Parliament's legislation, legal and human rights committee also urged to take legislative measures as well as review the current related legislations to stiffen punishments. She also recommended criminalisation of all acts that fall within the category of punishable offences.
Al Zayed said that her committee had discussed a set of letters pertaining a proposed convention on the benefits and immunity with the Arab states as well as a proposed covenant to combat terrorism.
She added that the committee also conferred pending matters, including the decisions taken during the last Arab League Summit in Egypt.
