Minister praise Bahrain's thriving cultural movement
Manama : Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi praised the thriving media, cultural and literary movement in Bahrain. Speaking at a meeting yesterday with a number of writers, researchers, poets and artists, he lauded development of education and scientific research thanks to freedom of expression and intellectual creativity in the prosperous reform era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
He praised contribution of creative Bahraini professionals to enriching the Arab library with distinguished publications in various areas.
The Minister underlined the government’s keenness to pave the way for citizens to hone their skills and click on their educational potentials to boost Bahrain’s pioneering standing as a regional and international model in cultural and human development as well as in building a knowledge-based community.
The writers, researchers and intellectuals thanked the Information Minister for his support to Bahraini competencies and motivation to publish more books.
Al Rumaihi received researcher and employee at Bahrain Radio Sana Yusef Saqr, who presented him with a copy of her Master Degree thesis in media and public relations, which was obtained from Al Ahlia University.
The Minister lauded the importance of the research in spotlighting the role of mass media in disclosing information to the public, shaping awareness, defending the national interest, fostering patriotism and preserving the identity.
