Bahrain jails man for stabbing friend’s eye
Manama : The High Criminal Court sentenced a man to five years prison for piercing a screwdriver into the right eye of his friend during a quarrel. The fight is said to have began with jokes before snowballed into a heating physical fight.
People at the scene dispersed them, but the defendant reportedly went inside his home and returned with the screwdriver and stabbed the eye of his victim.
According to a medical report, the victim suffered 35pc loss in his vision, which was deemed as a permanent impairment. The defendant admitted before the High Criminal Court to his crime. He was convicted of unintentionally causing a disability to the victim.
