BSA strategies and plans reviewed

Manama : The Bahrain Swimming Association (BSA) presented comprehensive reports for future strategies and plans in its meeting with the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in Seef.

Leading BSA representatives, including president Shaikh Mohammed bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, General Secretary Faisal Swar and other board of directors, made presentations on the association programmes in the future.

They include a series of initiatives and suggestions aiming to develop swimming in the kingdom, as well as expanding the sport among the youth and readiness to qualify and compete at higher levels.

The visiting delegation also revealed the strategic goals of the national teams to reach podiums in regional and international competitions and improving the standard of the Bahraini swimmers’ skills by increasing their involvement in overseas competition.

Dr Maryam Mirza spoke about the upcoming events for the national teams and challenges for the association in the near future and recommendations to overcome these difficulties.

However, BOC Secretary-General Abdulrahman Askar asserted the committee’s full support to the association in applying its programmes and plans to boost swimming in Bahrain, and commended the efforts of the BSA board in this regard.
