BICI proposal implemented : King
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday patronised a ceremony marking the completion of implementing the recommendations of Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).
Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, attended the event held at Al Sakhir Palace.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa welcomed Professor Mahmoud Cherif Bassiouni to the ceremony and thanked him for chairing the BICI and providing training sessions in the legal field during his presidency of the International Institute of Higher Studies in Criminal Sciences.
Shaikh Khalid also thanked the UK, the American Bar Association, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the UN Development Programme for their technical assistance and support to the national efforts.
HM King thanked Professor Bassiouni for visiting Bahrain to attend the ceremony.
