Modern Bahrain press law soon
Manama :Following the directives of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on the Bahrain Press Day, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi confirmed that work is underway to prepare a draft modern law to consolidate press and media freedoms.
The consolidation, according to the Information Affairs Minister, would be done on the bases of responsibility, professionalism and transparency, in consultation with the relevant parties.
Al Rumaihi also pointed out that the new law will be more advanced and comprehensive than the existing one, explaining that it will take into consideration the latest developments in the media and communication sector, as well as in the information and communication technology.
