Bahrain schools attacked by terrorists
Manama : A couple of public schools were attacked by vandals in the past few days, educational authorities announced yesterday.
Education Ministry said in a statement that “four schools were attacked by terrorists in different areas of the country”.
The ministry explained that roads to Tubli Elementary Boys’ School were blocked with tyres and cement slabs, while a burning waste bin was placed at the gates of Al Farabi Intermediate School.
“A group of terrorists broke into Buri Elementary Boys’ School and robbed a steel barrier, while another group showered Othman bin Affan Elementary and Intermediate Boys’ School with rocks and caused damages to the building,” the ministry said.
The ministry’s Public Relations and Media Directorate said it documented 498 attacks on educational institutions in the past five years.
