Al Zilzal qualify for knockout rounds

Al Zilzal defeated Ahlam Batelco 4-1 in their third and final Group B matches to qualify for the knockout rounds of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games (Nasser 8) last night at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
The opening goal came in the sixth minute through Mohammed Saleh Al Helali to give Al Zilzal the lead before professional Hesham Mansoor equalised in the 29th minute. In the second half, Lebanese player Rawwad Ragheb gave Al Zilzal the lead and teammates Abdulrahman Abdulla and Syrian Deeb added the third and fourth goals in the 64th and 71st minutes respectively. Al Zilzal with six points top the group, while Ahlam Batelco exits the tournament with no points. Tonight the third and final round of Group C matches are scheduled with Forever playing Al Maseef at 5.45pm followed by Al Ameed and Nomas at 8pm.
The event is being held under the patronage of Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The organising committee have announced completion of preparations for the Basketball tournament which kicks off on June 25 and concludes on July 1 with the final at 9pm with all matches played at the Bahrain Basketball Association in Umm Al Hassam. Volleyball gets underway on June 24 and concludes on June 30 with all matches at Bahrain Volleyball Association in Isa Town and the handball takes place at the Bahrain Handball Association in Umm Al Hassam and concluding on June 23.
