Bahrainisation: Ministry, LMRA to form regulations

Manama : Minister of Labour and Labour Market Regulatory Authority Chairman (LMRA) Board Chairman Jameel Humaidan has commended the decision of Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa on the optional alternative to Bahrainisation.

He pointed out that the Ministry of Labour was working in concert with the LMRA to develop a set of regulations to ensure that citizen employment was a priority in the private sector. 

He was speaking in a recent meeting, where the LMRA’s Council examined a circular submitted by the President of the Audit Committee to the Board of Directors. They also examined the financial and audit report of 2015 along with the annual report.

The Minister stressed that the employment of Bahrainis would not be waived with the new system, which is a condition to keep the work permits and renewal. He added that the new system was created to find some kind of balance between the importance of providing decent jobs for citizens, which is the top priority of the government.

LMRA CEO Ausamah Al Absi showcased the annual report of the Authority for 2015, and the level of sophistication of services provided to citizens, business owners and workers. 

He stressed the desire of the LMRA to work hard on the developing services and procedures in an ongoing basis to streamline the completion of transactions.

Al Absi also pointed out that the LMRA would make it easier for citizens and business owners by offering services through a range of branches throughout the Kingdom.

He also talked about the opening of a new LMRA branch in Mina Salman.
