Bahraini woman divorce abusive husband
Manama : The Sunni Shariat Court yesterday accepted a Bahraini woman’s divorce plea. The plaintiff accused her husband of mistreating her, stating that he was spitting on her face and dragging her from her hair while she was sleeping.
She presented to the court a recording that showed the level of ill-treatment she was suffering at his hands.
“My client went through different types of physical and mental violence, and saw her dignity being hurt on multiple occasions. Thus she found that it was impossible to continue to live with him. She gave him many chances in order to change. But his behaviour went from bad to worse,” the plaintiff’s lawyer Huda Al Shaer said.
The court ruled in the woman’s favour after it found that the damages she incurred over the course of her marriage were tangible.
