Wessels, Rampersad win end of season cups
Manama : Hendrik Wessels won the Consolation Cup and Serwin Rampersad lifts the Cup Winners Cup in Awali Golf Club’s season-ending climax as the early summer heat starts to kick-in. The two cups competitions are played simultaneously.
Players who have not won a competition during the season are eligible for the prestigious Consolation Cup and previous winners play for the Cup Winners Cup.
Wessels (net 65) lifted the Consolation Cup, followed in second by Martin Allison (67 on count back) with Sultan Ahmed (67) third, followed in fourth by Mark Hodgkinson (68 on count back), and Ali Musbah (68) fifth, while Rampersad, who only gained his first golfing handicap of 27 just a year ago posted a superb net 61 to win the Cup Winners Cup.
Club Captain Bill Scarth thanked all members, staff, and sponsors for their contributions to an excellent season of golf and Kerry Diaper who was tournament director.
