Bahrain jails maid for abusing child
Manama : The Supreme Appeals Court has rejected the appeal of a maid convicted of inserting a pen inside a five-year-old boy’s anus. She was earlier handed down five years behind bars.
The incident occurred in February 2015, and it was reported by the boy’s parents, who stated that the child complained of pain in the area. Later, they found that she had inserted a pen into the anus. When the parents asked the maid, she initially denied any wrongdoing to the kid.
“We took him to a doctor. After examining his posterior, the doctor found an object similar to a pen. When we confronted the maid she admitted to putting it inside his anus,” the couple told prosecutors.
The woman was charged with physically assaulting the child, exploiting his weakness and his disability to resist due to his age. The maid was ordered to be deported once she completes her jail term.
