Iconic British films Harry Potter and James Bond inspire residents of Bahrain to visit the UK
What is that inspires most Bahrainis to visit the United Kingdom? If you thought, it is the Dickens and Shakespears who marvel them you got it wrong.
Instead, it is the locations ranging from Central London to the rugged Scottish Highlands, the Harry Potter Movie franchise chronicling the fantasy adventures of the young wizard and his pals, which attract the Bahrainis to the UK.
This was disclosed in a recent survey conducted by the British Airways. According to British Airways, one in four Bahraini residents said it is those films, which inspired them to travel to the UK.
Interestingly, the popularity of Harry Potter has prompted King’s Cross Railway Station in London to display a signboard for Platform 9 ¾ the departure point for students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Bahraini’s craze for Harry Potter was closely followed by the quintessentially British James Bond series grabbing the second place.
Twenty-three per cent of Bahrainis attributed their visit to the UK – the birthplace of James Bond series, which showcase the suave and sophisticated British secret service agent 007.
The contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s detective novels, Sherlock, set in London and staring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman took the third place in fascinating the Bahraini residents.
With the UK film and TV locations grabbing the attention of Bahrainis, British Airways said it is offering special fares till June 15, 2015 with travel before November 30, 2015 for those looking forward to explore the UK over the summer.
