Bahrain-US military ties reviewed
Manama : Deputy King, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday held a meeting with the Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), General Joseph Votel, at Riffa Palace.
During the meeting, Prince Salman highlighted the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the United States. The Deputy King also noted the strong levels of cooperation across a range of areas, including military and defence cooperation.
In this regard, Prince Salman congratulated General Votel on his appointment as Commander of CENTCOM and wished him every success in the role.
They also reviewed key regional and international issues and highlighted the importance of combatting all forms of terrorism and extremism in order to secure lasting stability and security in the region.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of HRH the Crown Prince, also attended the meeting.
