Expat dies in Salmabad road accident

Manama  : An Indian expatriate was killed in an accident when he was hit by a truck in Salmabad area yesterday. The deceased is identified as Shibu, 42, who works as a delivery boy in Aqua Cool in Bahrain. The accident occurred when he was   trying to cross the road when a heavy truck ran over him. 

According to reports, the accident occurred around 2.30pm yesterday. Shibu hails from Thiruvalla in the Pathanamthitta district of the Indian State of Kerala. 

He is survived by his wife and child, who are in India. Sources told DT News that he had been working with a cleaning and maintenance company in Gudaibiya before joining the Aqua Cool a few months ago. 

The dead body, which is kept in Salmania Medical Complex (SMC) morgue, will be repatriated to his hometown once the paper works are completed. Shibu has been leading an expat life in Bahrain for more than two decades. His brother Anil, who had been working in Bahrain for more than five years, is now settled in India.
