4 Asians get jail terms for human trafficking

Four Asian nationals involved in a human trafficking case had their appeals rejected. Two of them were earlier sentenced to 10 years behind bars, while the remaining were given five years imprisonment.
The Public Prosecution alleged the accused forced an Asian woman to engage in commercial sex. A woman reportedly saw the victim being dragged into an apartment, where the first accused was running a brothel. She later informed the police, who immediately raided the apartment.
The victim was rescued and the first accused was nabbed in the police raid. The other suspects were arrested in an ambush carried out by police after the victim revealed the identities of the other three suspects.
The victim was reportedly sold by the accused on three separate occasions.
But it was the first accused who tricked her into leaving her sponsor's house where she worked as a maid.
He reportedly promised her a job to lure her into his house. Later, he raped her forced her into prostitution, according to court files.
The victim said she was forced to have sex with 20 men for BD9 per daily.
The first two accused were convicted of holding the victim captive, sexually and physically abusing her and forcing her into prostitution to make profit.
