‘Expatriates should train Bahrainis to replace them’
Manama : MPs are pushing for a law proposal, which obliges expatriates to train Bahraini employees, so they could replace them when they (expats) finally leave the country.
In its recent meeting held on Wednesday, Parliament’s Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee discussed a set of proposals, which included amending some of the articles of Law Decree 10 of the year 2010.
Following the meeting, Committee Head Ali Al Ateesh stated, “The proposal aims to make it mandatory for expats with experience who have been working in the public sector in Kingdom of Bahrain to rehabilitate Bahraini employees working under them, so Bahrainis could be assigned in their positions after their work periods end in the Kingdom.”
Al Ateesh confirmed that the committee discussed the proposal and decided to postpone issuing a decision in this regard.
Raise Bahrainis’ Wages
The MP also announced that the committee passed a proposal to increase Bahrainis’ wages by 20 per cent.
He explained that the proposal stipulates that Bahrainis working in the regular, specialist, executive and educational jobs should receive a 20pc hike of their basic salaries.
