Shaikh Nasser hails HM King

Manama : HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Captain of the Royal Endurance Team expressed his profound pride and honour to have HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain attending the Royal Windsor Endurance Ride Championship. 

This endurance event was founded by the Kingdom of Bahrain and turned into a prestigious festival. Shaikh Nasser has pointed out that HM the King’s keenness to constantly attend this event confirms his support to the championship which is attracting prominent equestrians from across the world.

The Captain of the Royal Endurance Team underlined that HM the King’s presence at the event was a source of motivation to all in the sport to give their utmost and compete to achieve the best results.

Shaikh Nasser added that the team has achieved all the goals they set at the start. The Royal Endurance Team was keen to participate in this race with many riders due to its importance and to gain more experience through competing against international champions, noted Shaikh Nasser.

Shaikh Nasser highlighted that his participation in the Royal Windsor Endurance Ride Championship was to support the horsemen taking part in the race as well as to back up team members.

Shaikh Nasser also said that he raced during the event on “Golden” who was recovering from an injury. “I had decided to participate in the event with Golden to more understand the progress of his recovery from his injury that he incurred. I withdrew from the third stage of the event after I realised that Golden hasn’t fully recovered.”

Winners congratulated

Shaikh Nasser extended his congratulations to the winner of the race Saif Al Mazroui of UAE, who covered the 120 km-long course in four hours 41 minutes 27 seconds at a speed of 25km/ph and Royal Endurance Team member Mahmood Abdulsamad, UAE’s Shaikh Rashid bin Dalmok Al Maktoom and Ghanim Al Muri for coming second third and fourth respectively and team member Ali bu Safar for finishing fifth.

Among the spectators were HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, the First  Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the President of Bahrain Athletic Association who watched the four stages of the race and congratulated the winners at the conclusion of the event.

HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Royal Equestrians and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Chairman, hailed HM the King’s attendance at the event, affirming that HM’s presence left a positive impact on the competition level and motivating the horsemen to show their best. Shaikh Faisal underlined that the Royal Endurance Team achieved the goals that were set prior competing in the race. He added that the technical plan designed by Shaikh Nasser for the team’s participation in the overseas races will reap great results.
