WMC Executive Council inducted in Bahrain

Manama: The World Malayalee Council (WMC) Bahrain province held its induction ceremony of the new executive committee at a glittering ceremony in Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) Diamond Jubilee Hall on Friday.

WMC Global President A.S Jose inducted the new executive committee of the Bahrain province for 2016-2018, headed by SPAC Group Chairman P. Unnikrishnan.

The other office bearers of the committee are Sevi Mathunni (President), Joshua Mathew (Secretary), C.N Unnikrishnan (Treasurer), Shainy Nithyan (Vice President), Jyothish Panicker (Vice President), Jayasree Somanath (Vice President),  Jayafar Maidani (Vice Chairman), Faisal FM (Vice Chairman), Mridula Balachandran (Vice Chairperson) and Jagath Krishnakumar (Asst. Secretary).

WMC President Sevi Mathunni presided over the function. WMC Chairman P. Unnikrishnan delivered the message of the council and Secretary Joshua Mathew welcomed the gathering.

Pravasi Bharatiya Samman honourees Soman Baby, P.V Radhakrisha Pillai, Zayani Motors General Manager Mohammed Zaki and WMC Goodwill Ambassador A.S Jose were the guests of  honour.

WMC former office bearers VV Mohanan, Sathish Mudalayil, UAE Exchange General Manger Vineesh Kumar, SPAC Director Latha Unnikrishnan, Asianet Radio  Programme Director Ramesh Payyanur and theatre  activist Prakash Vatakara were honoured during the ceremony.

WMC literary contest prizes were distributed to winners Shakkeer, Valsa Jacob, and Suma Satish.  4PM News Managing Director Pradeep Puravankara, E.A Salim and P.T Thomas were the jury members of the short story contest. Mridula Balachandran gave vote of thanks.

The induction ceremony was followed by Radio Uthsav 2016, an exclusive show by the Asianet radio jockeys. The radio jockeys who have millions of fans across the world were specially flown in from UAE. They got together on stage to perform live at night.

For thousands of Asianet friends who tune their ears to the voices of these Asianet personalities, it was a rare opportunity to watch them in action.

The three-hour event presented many memorable moments for the packed audience.

The WMC was formed on July 3, 1995 in New Jersey. The main objective of this organisation is to provide connectivity throughout the globe and to bring together the widely scattered community of Malayalees/people of Kerala origin.

WMC’s helping hand goes out to the needy and to the society at large at times of natural or man-made calamities irrespective of the place and the community.
