ASRY and Trinity Industrial Services sign 10-year deal

Manama : ASRY yesterday announced it has strengthened its portfolio of onsite specialist contractors with the signing of a Specialised Services Agreement with Trinity Industrial Services (TIS), reconditioning experts that are part of leading engineering conglomerate Trinity Holdings based in the UAE. 

As per the arrangement, Trinity will develop the existing 2,000sqm reconditioning workshop in ASRY to enhance its capabilities and provide specialized machining works.

Commenting on the project, Nils Kristian Berge, ASRY Chief Executive said: “We are pleased to bring Trinity into the prestigious ‘Project Jupiter’ collection of onsite specialist contractors. Their renowned expertise matches ASRY’s dedication to quality and will accompany the other hand-picked contractors that have a permanent presence in the yard.” 

Signing the contract, Arif Sayani, Managing Director, Trinity Holdings, commented: “The 10-year service contract is a welcome validation of our engineering capabilities and continued support to ASRY.” 

The agreement will see Trinity provide in-situ machining, grinding of shafts, thermal coating, re-conditioning of piston crowns, cylinder heads, liners, valve, spindles and seats, hard chrome and low stress nickel plating, metal casting and babitting works and also carry out repairs and overhauling of hydraulic cylinders and other related equipment.

Richard Dunn, TIS General Manager, commented on the occasion:” Trinity is ready to invest in expanding its service portfolio to better match the growing needs of the shipyard. Looking forward, we aim to ramp up the metal coating facility, increase the capacities of the existing electroplating plant, upgrade the machine shop facility and add ferrous and non-ferrous casting, white metal component and anode manufacture, marine engine component repair and stocking to the existing list of services.”

During the ceremony, Magdy Moustafa, ASRY’s Procurement and Contracts General Manager, stated that “We are confident that the new workshop, once completed, will provide a dedicated service point for reconditioning of machine and engine components using the latest available technology in this field and will expand its services to cover the local as well as the regional markets. It will also provide training to the Local Technicians on the new technologies in this field, as per the terms and conditions of the Agreement executed with Trinity.” 

Along with other senior ASRY officials, Trinity’s Operations Manager for Bahrain S. Krishna Kumar was also present during the ceremony.
