KHCB supports Quran recitation

Manama : Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB) as part of its corporate Social responsibility programme signed on as the Gold Sponsor for the recently concluded Bahrain International Quran Recitation “GlobalReciter”. The event was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The competition in its second edition has attracted over 7,000 contestants from over 91 countries. The number included representatives from 112 Quran institutions from 33 countries.

Moroccan Ahmed Mohammed Al Khaldi and his compatriot, Mohammed Al Arabi Qastali were announced as the winners in the reciting category in Tarteel mode (slow recitation) and reciting category in Tadweer mode (medium speed), respectively.

Commenting on the participation of KHCB as Gold Sponsor Khalil Al Meer, Chief Executive Officer of KHCB, said: “Our participation in this event as sponsor spawns from our absolute belief on the importance of contributing and positively supporting social initiatives that are beneficial to the Kingdom of Bahrain and also play a part in the development of society at large.”

He also added, “KHCB since its establishment in 2004 has placed great importance on being part of and providing a helping hand to the society of Bahrain and its different components through the Corporate Social Responsibility activities. Our Gold sponsorship for this competition which is supported by the wise leadership of Bahrain, is an honour for us because of the important message it delivers and additionally reflects the Kingdom’s keenness in spreading the values of the Holy Quran.”

Al Meer also extended his appreciation to the organising committee and commended them for hosting a successful event and promoting it on a global scale.
