Bahrain hanging restaurant fall video fabricated
Manama: Rumours claiming that a hanging restaurant has fallen recently in Bahrain, killing everyone on board, were denied by a senior official.
Tourism and Exhibitions Authority CEO Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa confirmed in a statement that such an incident has not occurred in Bahrain.
His statements came after a video was widely circulated on social media, showing a hanging restaurant falling in a public square, which was claimed to be in Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid said on his official Twitter page, “The video that is being circulated with the title “hanging restaurant falls in Bahrain and kills all on board” is fabricated. The footage was filmed in an Arab country, but not in Bahrain.”
Uploaded to YouTube on May 13, the video gained around 70,000 views.
However, the same video was also claimed to be filmed in Morocco.
