Non-functioning public restroom irks people
Manama : Hold your urge; the automated public restroom situated near the public car park, adjacent to Bab Al Bahrain is no longer working.
This in turn is affecting both the tourists, especially visitors to Bab Al Bahrain, besides daily commuters including women.
Visitors find themselves lucky if they come across kind shopkeepers or restaurant owners, but many of them allow only customers to use their toilets.
Salem Ammar, a security guard said, “At least 10 to 15 people come to me and ask about this toilet every day. When they find the toilet not working, they have to walk all the way to the nearest mall, or ask any shop owners to allow them use their toilet.”
The problem escalates during holidays, particularly on Fridays, when visitors to Bab Al Bahrain rises. People tend to use toilets of mosques, malls or restaurants. Some even urinate in streets, which have now become a cause of concern for others.
Businesses functioning in this area have been complaining of people using their toilet.
Concerns regarding the issue have been forwarded to the Manama municipality and they are in the resolution processes.
