Bahrain begins investigation on food wastage
Manama : The Public Prosecution has started investigating a complaint received from several lawyers against Manama Municipality, after its officials disposed fruits and vegetables seized from unlicensed peddlers.
This came after a video footage was circulated online showing the officials disposing off the seized commodities.
The lawyers argued that its officials didn’t have the right to throw away the items as the local criminal law penalises such acts.
They pointed out that vegetables and fruits are blessings of god and the municipality officials could have handled them in a better way.
