Bahrain jails five in bomb case
Manama : The High Criminal Court has sentenced five Bahraini men to five years behind the bars each for being implicated in a hoax bomb occurred in August last year.
The convicts are said to have planted the fake bomb in Sehla. According to the court documents, the fourth defendant incited his third co-defendant to place the fake device and he agreed with the first and second defendants to participate.
They reportedly pelted firebombs on the road in an effort to stall the traffic before planting the fake bomb and fleeing.
The police removed the device after the bomb experts declared that it wasn’t real. Investigations have established the involvement of the defendants.
During interrogation, the first, second and third defendants admitted to their responsibility of the incident.
