Man held for raising funds for anti-govt channels : Bahrain
Manama : A security man has been nabbed raising funds for two anti-government channels broadcasting from London.
He was ordered to be detained for 15 days, pending investigations.
The accused allegedly collected BD8000, out of which, he sent BD7000 to a man named Yassir Al Habib, a cleric living in London.
The defendant was in contact with Al Habib since 2008. He was offered to be appointed in the administration of the channels, and in exchange was asked to raise funds from Bahrain in favour of them.
Both the channels are reportedly broadcasting programmes attacking the government and the Sunni people.
