Bahrain extend drug offender's detention
Manama : The High Criminal court has renewed the detention of a man, who was accused of selling 250grams of hashish to an undercover agent, by 15 days.
The defendant landed in police net after a tip-off to the police that he was promoting drugs in Hamad Town.
More investigations were carried out, and the Bahraini suspect, aged 30, was eventually contacted by the undercover officer, who requested to buy 250grams of hashish at BD1,300. The duo met and as soon as the purchase was completed, police officers swooped down on him.
He was searched and several types of other illicit drugs were found in his possession. The defendant’s criminal record included 52 complaints against him, ranging between damaging properties, using drugs and insulting a public servant as well as insulting a woman.
