Bahrain jails four for making explosives
Manama : Four defendants accused of constructing a bomb and an improvised shotgun have been jailed for 10 years. The defendants are said to have intended to detonate the bomb against police officers, but the device was seized following a tip-off. The explosive was found buried in a graveyard in Qurayyah village along with the improvised bomb.
Prosecutors said that the four had planned to murder police officers and threaten the Kingdom’s security by using bombs and weapons.
They uncovered that the convicts had also identified police officers’ positions and their movements. The first defendant admitted to making the weapon, stating that he used it twice against police officers. He added that they had planned to lure police officers into the village and use the weapon and the bomb against them.
