Bahraini teens jailed for abduction
Manama : A court has sentenced five Bahraini teenage defendants to five years in prison each for kidnapping and torture charges.
The convicts, aged 15 to 17, reportedly kidnapped and tortured another teenager after accusing him of being a police informer, according to court documents.
Moreover, the teenagers allegedly sexually assaulted him after they locked him up on a farm in Sanabis.
The child told prosecutors that the defendants dragged him into a pick-up vehicle and abducted him before they brought him to the farm.
He stated that his captors were wearing masks during the incident, explaining that he was beaten up to make him confess to working with police officers.
The defendants allegedly also stole his mobile phone, and they later released him in a nearby area.
The first defendant admitted to his involvement in the crime, but he said he had abandoned the area after they attacked him.
The defendants were charged with attacking a teenager, threatening him and stealing the cellphone from him, torture and abduction.
