Theft: Court rejects appeal

Manama

The High Criminal Appeals Court rejected the appeals of two persons sentenced to six months each in prison on charges of robbing a lab.

The duo allegedly sneaked into a Hoora company and stole the device before fleeing the scene.

The laptop is said to be worth BD300, and its disappearance was reported to police by an employee of the company.

"I left my office's door unlocked when I went for my lunch at 12:30pm," the employee said in his statement.

"When I came back, I found the laptop wasn't there," he added. The accused were identified after reviewing CCTV camera footages.

According to court files, the accused were already convicted in a series of criminal cases previously.

They were earlier sentenced to six months each behind bars by the High Criminal Court, and the High Criminal Appeals Court has rejected their appeals against their prison terms.
