Al Aali fest showcase works of art for a good cause
Manama : Art is not about handicraft; it is the transmittance of the feeling than an artist had already experience. As a whole, art surpasses barriers. The Al Aali fest, held at Al Aali Mall, which concluded yesterday, was a confluence of different artists from the Island. The festival gave artists an opportunity to express their thoughts and beliefs by drawing inspiration from life and translating them onto canvas. Be a painter, glass-painting artist, photographer, miniature artist or free-style painting, calligraphy, sculpting, caricatures and fashion design, everyone displayed their skill for a cause.
The fifth Al Aali Art festival aimed to raise funds through the sale proceeds of the arts by various artists. The proceeds from art sales will be used to support Sneha, a charitable organisation that aims to be a safe haven for children with special needs under the flagship of the Indian Ladies Association.
Speaking to DT News, Abbas Al Mosawi, a renowned Bahraini artist, said “These kinds of festivals are always an encouragement to the budding artists. One of the greatest achievements is that we are able to pass our knowledge to them by conducting workshops. We guide them to use colours using different mediums by their own techniques and imagination.” “According to me, the festival has already become a common platform for artists to exchange ideas.”
The festival also featured Shayma Al Mughairy (Arabs Got Talent fame), sand artist from UAE along with speed calligraphers Anass and Zorg from Morocco. “I have been a regular participant. This is my third visit. The good thing about this fest is that it gives us a chance to showcase our art works for a good cause,” Supriya, a glass painting artist said.
The festival displayed works under various classes such as fine art, pottery, live calligraphy, music and henna art. The target was to transform the shopping complex into a live gallery with different forms of art.
