Parmar wins JTI Tennis tourney

Manama : Sparsh Parmar defeated Ken Belt 10-7 to win the 12 years and under title in the Second JTI Tennis Championship organised by Bahrain Tennis Federation (BTF) at its courts at the University of Bahrain Polytechnic in Isa Town.

In the 10 years and under category final, Fares Toobli beat Aire Alegria 6-1 games and the 8 years and under winner was Vyome Gupta who beat Hashim Toobli 4-3.

Around 40 youngsters of different nationalities registered to compete in three unisex categories - Under-12, 10 and 8, held in the framework of the (JTI) programme organised by the International Tennis Federation for the development of tennis in the West Asia region.

After the matches, the coaching staff headed by Mohammed Ali Salman, Director of the National Tennis Team, presented cups to the winners. 

He encouraged the players to improve their skills and development in the sport. 

Also adding that BTF attaches great importance to juniors and the continuation of tournaments for all categories.

Under 10: (Semi-finals): Fares Al Toopli bt Raj Singh 6-2, Aire Alegria) bt Altair Marat 6-5. (Quarter finals): Faris Toobli bt Boudica Verbeek 6-4, Raj Singh bt Sunil Rushikesh 6-3, Aira Alegria bt Khadija Mousa 6-2, Altair Marat w/o Hiroki Wakamutso.
