Bahrain court books two men for murder

Manama: A Filipino man accused in connection with murdering a Pakistani man told the High Criminal Court yesterday that his co-defendant, also a Filipino, didn’t participate in the crime. Police held two defendants in custody after suspecting them of carrying out the crime.

However, the court renewed the detention to both of them, pending investigations into the case.

According to court reports, the Pakistani man’s body was found in an apartment in Hoora, and initial investigations confirmed that he was killed with a knife. Detectives found the duo’s involvement in the murder.

The Filipino man had borrowed money from the victim’s debt, but he failed to repay it. So he planned to kill him. Prosecutors said that the other man abetted the crime, though it was the first defendant, who stabbed the man with a knife.

The two accused, according to court documents, robbed several belongings of the Pakistani man before leaving the scene, including bank cards and cash.
