Need to boost human rights stressed

Manama: Public Prosecutor Dr. Ali bin Fadhel Al Buainin said human rights have become a basic criterion to measure the growth and civilisation of nations. He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to take decisive and influential steps to guarantee those rights in all areas, pointing out the Kingdom’s accession to pertinent international conventions.

He was speaking at the opening of a training session organised by the Public Prosecution in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Human Rights (AIHR) on international mechanisms to boost human rights yesterday. He pointed out the steps taken by Bahrain to foster human rights, stressing that law enforcers need to be fully aware of human rights to guarantee them.

Dr. Al Buainin affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on respecting human rights while enforcing the law, pointing out that the training session brought together representatives of all relevant parties to discuss international agreements in this respect.

The opening of the two-day training session was attended by Attorney General Chancellor Hamid Habib, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, Advocates General, civil and military judges, legal researchers and members of the Public Prosecution.
