Primedia International names new CEO

Bahrain-based media solutions company Primedia International announced the promotion of its Chief Operating Officer, Sohail Nawaz MBE, to Chief Executive Officer.

Sohail moved to Bahrain in July 2014 from the UK where he previously served British Telecom-owned Yell.com for 15 years before being head-hunted to work for tp.uk. He joined tp.uk and was instrumental in developing their local search engine business as a Google Certified Partner.

“I am honoured and privileged that the Board has asked me to lead Primedia at such an important time in its development," said Sohail. “Primedia has recently expanded its services to providing complete digital media and marketing solutions to SMEs in the Gulf region. I am looking forward to our continued journey in the digital and print space with our talented team."

The company earlier announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with European-based partner tp and Bahrain-based digital agency Urbansoft Technologies. The recent partnerships are part of Primedia’s digital strategy, whereby the company will now offer Google Adwords, website development and social media management alongside it’s print portfolio.

“Being able to assist SME’s to win new clients on the internet via Google AdWords, building responsive and dynamic websites to facilitate this and then creating communities of loyal clients for our clients signals the next phase in our overall vision of connecting buyers with sellers globally across all platforms,” Sohail added.
