Bahrain announce two new visas

Manama : The Bahrain Cabinet approved a proposal to create two kinds of entry visas and extend the validity of other visas.

This is with a view to provide more facilities to attract visitors and investors.

According to the plan, recommended by the Executive Committee, chaired by Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, a new BD5 entry visa, issued electronically at border points, will be added. Issued only once, the visa allows its holder to stay in the kingdom for five days.

The second visa is a multi-entry one. It is issued electronically for BD85 and allows its holder to stay in the kingdom for up to 90 days. Holders of the current multi-entry visas, which are valid for three months, may stay in the kingdom up to one month instead of two weeks.

The memorandum on the new visa plan, highlighted in the presentation given by Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, was referred to the relevant sides to take the necessary procedures.

Pointing out the government’s efforts to find alternatives that contribute to continuity of the retirement funds, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed that the rights of retirees are preserved and their gains are protected.

Chairing the Cabinet’s weekly session at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, HRH Premier praised the role played by retirees in building the nation and enhancing the Kingdom’s development march.

“In this regard, the Council of Ministers hailed the ceremony held recently under the auspices of HRH the Prime Minister to honour retirees,” Cabinet Secretary-General Dr. Yaser bin Essa Al-Nasser said in a statement following the session.

In the meeting, HRH Premier requested the Labour and Social Development Minister to study ways to support and consolidate the role of training institutes through increasing their contributions to training job seekers.

Prince Khalifa also directed the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry and the Housing Ministry to verify the irregularities in Al-Buhair, especially regarding bachelors’ accommodations, illegal workers and waste.

HRH the Prime Minister followed up the progress of the infrastructure and development projects in the Muhrarraq Governorate. These projects include mainly the new Central Market and the multi-storey car park in the Muharraq Souq.
