Bahrain acquired land to build 25,000 housing units

Manama : Housing Minister Basim Alhamer informed yesterday that the Housing Ministry had acquired land lots that can accommodate 25,000 housing units, which are included in the Government Action Plan and stem from the Royal Order to build 40,000 housing units.

The Minister said that the provision of lands suitable for housing projects and services embodies the government’s keenness to ensure the needs of Bahraini citizens, including housing. “It also reflects the leadership’s desire to preserve the social fabric in every region and reduce the number of applications.”

He said the Housing Ministry had rehabilitated the acquired land lots and provided them with all facilities, including streets and roads, in cooperation with the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry.

Al-Hamar added that the acquisition of land lots would provide more than 3,500 housing units in Ramli, 746 in Sitra’s Block 609.

It will also ensure many multiple services and facilities, including green areas, open areas, mosques and schools.
